Not the place it used to be. Water Margin is now a lame duck!
I took a large party their mid week and the food was over 2 hours in coming out, when it did it was not very good. Staff were not as pleasant and friendly as some earlier reviews lead us to believe and were more interested in their private karaoke party that was going on.
Overall, I wouldn't darken their door again even if they did send me a credit note.

Food are nice, we tried couple of dishes from the Chinese menu, which is yummy and healthy. A little bit over priced, but acceptable.
Went there last week. There was an excellent offer between five and seven where 2 courses were £9.95 per person and the drinks were buy one get one free. Lovely chinese beer. The food was very good (Squid with salt ad chilly was amazing) and the service prompt and friendly. Nice decor aswell.
I really enjoyed everything at The Water Margin. The food was excellent, the staff were very attentive. I can't fault this restaurant. A bonus was getting parked at the front door!
We had the set meal for two and couldn't eat it all, you get a lot of food for your money. The staff were great, very attentive and friendly

The drinks are becoming very very expensive and the portions of food are getting smaller .
This restaurant is ultimately the best in Northern Ireland. Food is excellent, service is great and the staff are wonderful.Good for all occasions such as a family gathering or a birthday bash.
i love the water margin, its beautiful inside and the service is excellent, we'll definetly be back!! The food has the most gorgeous detail and the chinese beer is a favourite with my boyfriend.
We had a fab time in the water margin, i was in a group of 19 and the food was in big portions fantastic service and not a complaint between us all!!!the in house entertainment was exceptional I would recommend for a quiet night in or a girls night out definitely a hit with me.
Have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions in the past and had been suitably impressed. However, visted in February 2007 and found that the service had gone downhill rapidly. I was in a group of arounf 12, ordering a banquet. Not only was the the amount of food served up insufficient for the size of the party but we had to wait one hour between courses, despite complaining on numerous occasions. After having vented our anger at having waited, yet again for dessert (only to have the wrong desserts being served) the waiter had the audacity to attempt to serve a birthday cake to one of our party. Needless to say I won't be back. If you're into a beautiful building, appreciate it only from the outside. There are far better chinese/thai restaurants available in Belfast...
