As for up and coming DJs... Im more than happy to give anyone a shot at doing something... Maybe a DJ competition or something would be good? Who knows... Fire your suggestions up and ill put them to the powers that be...

With regards to the full moon party comment, the crowd being scum? Really? I didnt see one fight nor scuffle all night. They seemed lively and they seemed to really enjoy the show that was put on for them... Maybe you were too busy in the VIP room getting your drink and you missed it, who knows?

The DJS Comment... - Right think about this, box has one of the nicest crowds around Belfast (no1 can argue with that, well apart from that one dude on here but anyway). These people enjoy music just as much as a person who is in Shine sweating their asses off giving it stacks on their dancefloor... nothing changes... just because people that go to box MAY not saying do Im saying
MAY dress better and take a slight bit of pride in their appearence doesnt mean that they dont want to see good DJs too... However I agree with your comment on fashion, your totally right... there are sooo many different variations on fashion nowadays... I mean its cool to wear an adidas jacket out now... Strange... :P
House DJs are a definite... As for techno, we will never go down that route.. We will always try and target the more commercial scene so you wont be seeing Dave Clarke (Altho he is awesome) in box anytime soon... We have the Freemasons in Sept... In potential talks with Seamus Haji for Oct... Ive requested that we enquire about Axwell, Angello and Eric Prydz also altho I know it will be hard as these guys usually do Kellys... We will try tho... Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

"To be honest, if your thinking of having credible DJ bookings, the crowd who you would then (i would think) be trying to attract aren't going to be interested in adhering to any dress codes (a concept which I think in this day and age is wildly out of date anyway, unless you've crawled out of a coal mine), as there are so many different concepts of fashion today, which is a good thing.

Quality House and techno DJs in the Box would be a big step forward for the scene in Belfast and add credibility to the odyssey pavillions lagging credibility. Techno/House would also serve as nice juxtaposition against the hard house/Trance etc happening at the Beach Club, coming closer to satisfying a wider audience.

It might even help keep Mr. Middle Class below me out. He should check out ollies instead maybe. LoL

sober 24 year old!!!!!!!!!! said on 01st June ... "disgraced, Three fiends and i (sober) tried to get into the box last night and were turned away!!! when asked the reasons why, we were advised by the 'big bad doormen' that they just wont allow us in!!! we were sober and the correct age, the doorman agreed that we were the correct age and sober!! he just didnt want to allow us in, when we walked away he then let 4 women in!!, when i turned to look at him he just winked at me. Now this guy has obviously got some problems when it comes to proving he is a man, when he has to turn away fellas from a club and then let in women in. Needless to say im sorta glad becuase i then went on to another club where i pulled perhaps the most gorgeous girl ive ever met!!! so this is just a note to say THANKYOU!!!!!! "

Excuses? Im not making any excuses, Im simply saying all those DJs you have mentioned are well established within their own right and have all been on the circuit for many many years, comparing someone that has only been doing it a few years "professionally" so to speak seems a big harsh in my opinion. I could learn a lot from all the DJs you mention, and I did from Courty - A Hell of a lot from him infact! I don't feel the need to come on to this review site and put up posts pretending to be someone else to big myself up. To be totally honest with you buddy I'm confident enough in my ability (call me arrogant if you like) to not have to be fed lines of confidence every 2 mins to keep me ontop of things.

I'm not here to say I'm gods gift of a DJ, thats just stupid. However, what I am here to do is defend myself to someone who clearly knows what they are talking about.

Lost Box all its custom? Have you seen the queues there? I've been there from day 1 in Box, so If I was gonna hinder the place I'm sure it would have happened by now a year and a half after its opened.

You obviously know a lot of people or your very well informed, you seeem to know the managers name plus a lot of other DJs in and around Belfast, so why don't you stop hiding behind your little alias and attach your real name to your comments, that way we can have a sensible adult discussion about the matter rather than just throwing cheap and uncalled insults back and forth.

BTW at least half of the door staff still haven't got their licence - conveniently Belfast council have to inform them 24 hours before when they're doing an inspection.
